Today, many people live in old houses built in the 1990s without elevators. Those who live below the third floor are fine, but those who live on the upper floors really climb the stairs for a lifetime. Some people feel nothing when they are young and get used to climbing stairs. But as they got older, gradually, they found that when they climbed the 6th and 7th floors every day, they were a little bit powerless. So many people who live on high floors think that in recent years, it has not been popular to renovate old communities and install elevators for some old houses. For old houses like them, should they also consider installing an elevator?
In fact, I think there are pros and cons when it comes to installing elevators in old houses. Although it may be for everyone whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages or the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, this will not be exactly the same, it will take time to test. Today, I still want to talk to everyone about my views on this matter.
Let me talk about the positive side first. Almost all of them are elderly people who still live in old communities. When young people get married, they have to buy a wedding house. Most people will choose to buy a new house that they like with their spouse and will not live in an old house anymore. Therefore, for the elderly staying in the old house, it will definitely be much more convenient to install an elevator to go up and down. Moreover, after the elevator is installed, the house price will rise when the second-hand housing transaction is carried out. Is it convenient to go up and down after all? Some price increases are understandable.
Next, let’s discuss the drawbacks. First, occupying public space. This is well understood. Generally, the space in the old community is very tight, and the elevator needs to be installed on the outside, so that the space will be reduced. Even more nervous. The second point is that neighbourhood disputes are likely to occur. Installing elevators requires the residents of the unit to pay together. If you live in a high-rise building, you can pay no complaints, but the problem is that people live on the first floor and the second floor, and they don't think they can use the elevator. Why would you let me share the elevator fee? Therefore, the issue of coordinating the payment of money is likely to cause neighbourhood disputes.
In addition, sometimes the installation of elevators will block light for some residents. Once this happens, people will definitely be unhappy. Another point is that safety issues must be considered. Many of the stairs in the old community use prefabricated panels, and there are many hidden safety hazards. The elevator increases the burden of the stairs, will it cause derivative disasters? This is really hard to say. Another point is noise, electricity and approval issues. The problem of noise has always plagued the residents of the city, and after the installation of elevators, the problem will be derived from the high-rise to the multi-story, and many people will not be able to bear the noise.
There is also the problem of electricity consumption. Even if residents can use electricity, the sharing of electricity costs is still a problem. Then there is the issue of examination and approval. After the first examination and approval, what should I do if there are various problems and the annual inspection cannot be done? How to coordinate? Many problems can make people tired between various departments. In the end, they can only give up. In this way, the elevator is really just a decoration, and people return to the days of climbing stairs. Therefore, on the question of whether or not to install elevators in the old community, the partners are really cautious. It can't be said that the installation is convenient for a while, and it regrets after a period of use.
